Vitiligo commonly impacts both sides of the body in a symmetrical manner. If a patch appears on one side, a similar one may be present on the corresponding area of the other side.
Locations Affected: Common areas for vitiligo patches include the face, hands, wrists, feet, elbows, knees, and genitalia. However, vitiligo can occur on any part of the body.
Hair and Color Changes: The hair in areas affected by vitiligo may turn white or gray. Additionally, color loss can occur in the eyes, eyelashes, and eyebrows.
No Other Physical Symptoms: Vitiligo itself doesn't cause physical discomfort, itching, or pain. It is primarily a cosmetic concern.
